Admission Guidelines

ELIGIBILITY

BA (Mass Communication):
A candidate for being eligible for admission to the three year programme leading to the degree of Bachelor of Arts must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with the following subjects:
  • English Paper of 100 marks
  • Any one of the Modern Indian Languages or Modern Foreign Languages or any classical Language or Information Technology / Any four subjects carrying 100 marks each
  • Or

  • English
  • Any one vocational subject carrying 200 marks
  • Any three subjects carrying 100 marks each
  • Or

  • Must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std. XII) examination with the Minimum Competency based vocational courses (MCVC) conducted by the different Divisional Boards of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
  • Or

  • Must have passed an examination of another University or Body Recognized as equivalent thereto.
  • Or

  • Must have passed any three year Government recognized Diploma Programmes.
  • The students who pass University Entrance Test (UET) conducted by the Centre for Distance Education (CDE) will be eligible to join the programme through Distance mode only. UET passing will be valid for a period of two years only.
  • Distance Education Council (DEC) norms will be followed for admission into distance education programmes.
MA (Mass Communication & Journalism):
  • Women graduates, from any discipline, who has $12+3$ years of education and/or required credit requirements to pursue postgraduate programme with minimum of 40% from AICTE/UGC recognized institutions.
  • Students awaiting their final year results can be given provisional admission.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Satyam School of Journalism & Mass Communication follows a personalized admission process. A one-onone interview is conducted to shortlist candidates for the following programs:

  • B.A. (Mass Communication)
  • M.A. (Mass Communication & Journalism)
  • Diploma Courses
  • Certificate Courses

The interview evaluates communication skills, subject interest, and overall aptitude to ensure the right program fit. A duly filled application form must be submitted along with a registration fee of Rs. 500 (via cheque/cash/Online) in favor of Satyam Fashion Institute at the Accounts Department.

Note: All original documents must be presented along with self-attested photocopies at the time of admission.

Special Seats for Differently Abled Candidates

A total of five seats are reserved for differently abled candidates across all programs. Eligible candidates must submit valid medical documentation certified by a District Government Hospital. Candidates admitted under this category will also be awarded scholarships on the applicable fee structure for their respective programs.
